What happens during the procedure for Dental Exams & Cleanings?
The first step is to take x-rays so that we can use these during the appointment. Our hygienist will then clean the teeth using special instruments known as scalers. These help to scrape away tartar and stains from your teeth. The hygienist then measures your gum pockets to check for signs of either gingivitis or gum disease. The next step is for Dr. Sylvie Lam to come in and perform the exam. The doctor is checking for cavities and other problems that will be essential for treatment.
